Welcome to the home page for Dark Magical Orchestra, an online continuing story collection by D. Brad Talton.

What is Dark Magical Orchestra? DMO is a collection of short stories which follow the adventures of Cosette Garidion, as she engages in various adventures concerning the fantastic, the mysterious, and the occult. The story continues, with a new chapter published here every Monday (tentatively).

Please check out the story section to begin enjoying Dark Magical Orchestra, or check the character page to meet the cast of the stories in greater detail.

Dark Magic and the iPhone/iPod Touch

June 30th, 2009

I’ve been working together for the past few weeks with Archeme to develop the new Dark Magical Orchestra iPhone app! It’s better than ever before (because it’s the first release)!

Maybe you want to read a bit on the go? Maybe you’ve just wanted to support the series and thought the books were too expensive? Maybe you want to show off the stylish reader to all your friends? Whatever the reason, the DMO iPhone app can be found right here for only $2.99!

Dark Magical Orchestra Reader page at the iTunes Store

The app contains the first 30 chapters of the series (the first four movements, just like the first anthology collection).

I would like to do another DMO app soon–maybe an adventure game where you get to interact with characters and choose the outcome of the story. We’ll see how this one does and whether it’s worth my time to write it. Please let me know of any suggestions for this app or future apps.

Also, if you want to feature DMO Reader on your blog or website, please contact me and let me know, so I can get you a free review copy!

Thanks, and a new chapter is on the way.

Another week…

September 16th, 2008

It’s been a week since Libraricon, and yet, no updates to DMO. (sigh) I’ve been feeling a little out of things this week. I’ll probably go to the doctor tomorrow to see if there’s anything wrong with me. I’ve been having these chronic headaches, and feeling really tired out. I wonder if it’s a flu or something? Anyway, I have some good ideas for next week’s Dark Magical Orchestra, but I have yet to type them up. Please wish me luck with recovery and writing, so that I can deliver a new chapter on time this time!

LibrariCON approaches

September 2nd, 2008

Hey everyone! This is Church back with more lame. Yes, there’s no DMO again this week. That’s two weeks running! Sort of like the 1-2 punch right before the final chapter of book 5, eh?

The truth is, there’s a lot going on lately, and I’m going to be busy this week preparing for LibrariCON in Fayetteville, NC. To all you Fayettevillains out there, come visit me and see my How to Draw Manga panel in the morning! I’ll also be selling books and stuff at my table in the artists room, so come by and buy something!

See you all there,

-Church
